HSE Chief

We are currently seeking a HSE Chief to be assigned to our Tisza 1000 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Hungary.
• Bachelor’s degree from university (preferably in Engineering),
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles within international industrial projects,
• Strong knowledge of international HSE standards, particularly OSHA regulations,
• Experience in the application and management of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems,
• Solid experience in: permit to work systems , energy isolation (lockout/tagout), working at heights , lifting operations, excavation works, confined space entry, commissioning processes.
• Proficient in risk assessment and hazard identification methodologies,
• Fluency in English, preferably with experience in Hungary,
• Possession of at least one of the following certificates: OSHA or NEBOSH.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Lead the implementation of the company’s HSE policies and ensure full compliance with local legislation, international standards, and project-specific requirements,
• Oversee the preparation, development, and implementation of project-specific HSE and Environmental Plans and Procedures,
• Supervise the execution of risk assessments, propose corrective actions, and ensure follow-up of all control measures,
• Establish and maintain coordination with local authorities and project stakeholders on all HSE-related matters,
• Monitor subcontractors’ HSE compliance and guide them on performance improvements,
• Plan and oversee site inspections, safety audits, and environmental monitoring,
• Coordinate and lead incident investigations, define root causes, and track implementation of corrective actions,
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans, organize emergency drills and HSE training sessions,
• Lead HSE team members, supervise their daily activities, and ensure alignment with project objectives,
• Prepare and lead regular HSE meetings, generate performance reports, and submit them to project management.
