Tunneling & Pipelaying Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and reviewing construction method statements, procedures, and detailed work plans for tunneling and pipelaying operations.
* Coordinate offshore trenching, tunneling (e.g., HDD, microtunneling, immersed tube), and pipe laying activities (S-lay, J-lay, or tow-in).
* Supervise site execution, including barge/vessel operations, welding, coating, tie-ins, and pipeline lowering.
* Monitor alignment, seabed preparation, backfilling, and protection works (e.g., rock dumping, mattresses).
* Ensure construction complies with engineering drawings, technical specs, and project QA/QC requirements.
* Interface with marine, civil, geotechnical, and HSE teams to align offshore execution.
* Support the resolution of technical issues and contribute to progress reporting and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Offshore Engineering.
* 5+ years of relevant experience in offshore pipeline and/or tunneling works.
* Strong knowledge of offshore installation methods, trenching, HDD/microtunneling, and subsea pipeline design.
* Familiar with offshore construction standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO).
* Experience with marine spread operations, installation vessels, and survey techniques.
* Strong coordination, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
