About Role

As a Data Scientist at invent.ai, you will help deliver data-driven solutions for our North American clients. You will work with the Delivery team on requirements gathering, data analysis, model implementation, solution onboarding, and presenting results to clients. You will also collaborate with Product and other project teams to turn business needs into practical solutions.

We are hiring at Junior Data Scientist, Data Scientist, and Senior Data Scientist levels. The final title, responsibilities, and level of ownership will be determined during the interview process based on experience and demonstrated capability. We welcome strong fresh graduates and early-career candidates for the junior level.

Working hours: This role requires availability to work during North American business hours at least three days per week.

What You Will Do

• Analyze data to identify patterns, answer business questions, and support solution design.
• Implement and improve models used in our data-driven products and client solutions.
• Take part in requirements gathering, solution onboarding, and other implementation activities.
• Work directly with clients to understand their needs and present findings in clear, client-ready materials.
• Collaborate with Delivery, Product, and project teams to solve problems and deliver effective solutions.
• Share knowledge with teammates and contribute to how the team works.
• Depending on your experience, lead implementation tasks and support the work of other team members.

What We Are Looking For

• A degree in a quantitative field, such as Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• A solid understanding of mathematical modeling, operations research, or statistical methods.
• Ability to plan your work and make progress when requirements are not fully defined.
• Ability to learn new tools and approaches quickly.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical work to clients.
• Fluent English and a collaborative approach to working with others.
• For mid and senior-level consideration: At least two years of relevant professional experience taking ownership of data science or implementation tasks.
• Practical experience using AI tools in technical workflows and checking the quality of their outputs.
• Candidates with less experience are welcome to apply and will be considered for the junior level with strong technical fundamentals and problem-solving potential demonstrated through academic work, internships, projects, or interviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python, R, SQL, or GAMS.
• Experience with optimization tools or methods.
• Experience with PySpark, Airflow, or Tableau.
• Experience with software or data solution implementation.
• Experience with project management or leading a small team.

AI-Augmented Ways of Working

AI tools are part of how we analyze problems, develop solutions, and deliver client work. We expect everyone to use them thoughtfully and validate AI-generated outputs before relying on them.

Our expectations vary by level:

• Junior Data Scientist: Curiosity, strong technical fundamentals, and willingness to learn AI-assisted ways of working. Advanced agentic AI experience is not required at entry.
• Data Scientist: Practical experience using AI tools in technical work, with examples of how you have used them to improve analysis, development, or delivery.
• Senior Data Scientist: Ability to use AI in more complex, multi-step workflows, assess the quality of its outputs, and help teammates adopt effective practices.

AI Maturity Framework

We evaluate and develop everyone against a four-level AI maturity framework:

L0 — Transactional: Uses AI only as a search engine. Not the level we hire at.

L1 — Copilot / Augmented: Uses AI for autocomplete, partial generation, and day-to-day assistance. Minimum entry level.

L2 — Agentic: Delegates isolated tasks to AI agents and runs multi-step AI workflows. Our standard target.

L3 — Spec-Driven: AI-orchestrated execution from requirement to deployment. Expected senior and lead roles.
