About Role

As Legal Counsel, you will serve as the internal legal operational lead for our tech enterprise. In this middle-management role, you will oversee end-to-end legal operations, maintain corporate governance, and manage multi-jurisdictional compliance across our U.S. parent company and operating entities in four different jurisdictions. You will act as the primary operational liaison to outside legal consultants and specialized law firms, ensuring our global scaling remains compliant, agile, and cost-effective.

Additionally, you will drive legal risk management across our global footprint, establishing safeguards for company data privacy and advising internal teams on the evolving legal implications of artificial intelligence.

What You Will Do

• Legal Operations: Direct cross-border legal operations across all five operating jurisdictions. Act as the primary sync point and manager for external specialized law firms and regional legal consultants.
• AI Legal Compliance & Risk Governance: Oversee and advise cross-functional teams on AI legal compliance, tracking emerging global AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, US federal/state AI frameworks), establishing data input safety guardrails, and managing liability risks associated with AI deployment.
• Regulatory & Data Privacy Oversight: Monitor regulatory changes and legislative developments to ensure company-wide compliance. Maintain baseline compliance frameworks across key privacy regimes (CCPA, GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, KVKK), engaging local external counsel for complex localized requirements.
• Corporate Secretarial & Entity Management: Oversee corporate governance matters, including Board of Directors decisions, General Assembly processes, circulatory resolutions, and statutory record maintenance across all operating entities.
• Global Growth & Restructuring Support: Support international growth in different countries regarding company establishments, corporate presence, team assignments, and structural adjustments.
• Contract Management & Escalation: Govern standard corporate agreement frameworks (Mutual NDAs, MSAs, SOWs), managing escalation paths and alignment across business units.
• Risk Oversight & Internal Policy: Lead Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, handle employee contract management, compliance and ensure updated corporate policies and records, and partner with business units to mitigate operational risks.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (J.D. or equivalent legal degree). Active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar.
• 10 years of post-qualification legal experience within a tech enterprise, fast-growing corporate environment, or relevant law firm practice.
• Tech-forward mindset and active adoption of AI and workflow automation technologies.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-border legal operations and effectively coordinating outside counsel.
• Working knowledge of commercial transaction structures (MSAs, SOWs, NDAs) and cross-border entity governance.
• Practical understanding of global data privacy principles (GDPR, CCPA).
• Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues.
• The ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner.
