About Role
We are seeking a Solution Architect to join our Delivery organization and take on a strategic role that strengthens our project delivery capabilities. The role is critical for ensuring scalable, cost-efficient, and high-quality implementations of Invent.ai solutions. Solution Architects act as technical leaders across pre-, during, and post-delivery phases, helping increase project throughput, improve architectural rigor, and support broader operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact in delivery projects: design, review, and lead scalable solution implementations across client engagements.
- Post-delivery, provide structured support to the Client Excellence team via dedicated Architect Task Clinics to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale client-facing solutions.
- Understand business and data requirements and translate them into technical solution designs, data flows, integrations, and high-level architectures.
- Participate in and facilitate customer-facing data workshops and design meetings, guiding discussions toward clear and actionable outcomes.
- Engage with customers to understand and clarify their data requirements, existing data structures, business needs, and technical constraints.
- Present and explain our data structures, data models, integration approaches, and platform capabilities, helping customers understand how their requirements can be addressed.
- Identify gaps between customer requirements and existing data structures or capabilities, and collaboratively shape, refine, or adapt solutions to address them.
- Translate agreed customer requirements into data structures, mappings, data flows, integration requirements, and solution designs.
- Produce architecture diagrams and supporting technical documentation to clearly communicate proposed solutions.
- Evaluate solution options and articulate technical trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and design considerations.
- Apply established architecture principles, standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Support architecture assessments and design decisions, and help ensure delivered solutions remain aligned with the agreed architecture and design.
- Partner with the Center of Excellence to develop and maintain best practices and reusable assets that improve delivery efficiency and enable scalable knowledge transfer across teams.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years in data engineering, software engineering, technology consulting, solution design, or a related technical role
- 3+ years of domain expertise in Retail, Merchandising, or Supply Chain Planning, ideally across multiple implementations
- Proven track record in customer-facing roles
- Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale AI/ML or analytics solutions
Skill Set Required
- Solid understanding of data architectures and platforms — data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and system integrations
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including cost optimization strategies
- Understanding of architecture principles: scalability, availability, security, performance, and maintainability
- Ability to translate business requirements into structured technical requirements and solution designs
- Ability to create, document, and communicate technical/architecture diagrams, using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, Miro, or similar (plus general proficiency with Office/Google productivity tools)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps and propose practical solutions
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive/non-technical stakeholders
- Good command of business English
- Willingness and availability to work North American business hours at least 3 days per week
AI Maturity Framework
We evaluate and develop everyone against a four-level AI maturity framework:
L0 — Transactional: Uses ChatGPT/Gemini only as a search engine. Not the level we hire at.
L1 — Copilot / Augmented: Uses AI to draft e-mails / partial slides but not multi-step delivery workflows.
L2 — Agentic Development: Delegates multi-step tasks to AI agents; automates status reports; triages runs with Claude + SQL; validates outputs before sending. Our standard target.
L3 — Spec-Driven: Orchestrates an end-to-end implementation engine: discovery → config → runs → QA → comms via AI. Owns 2+ internal skills / plugins used by peers.
AI-First Requirements
At Invent.ai we run AI-augmented delivery. This role requires a professional who has built AI-driven workflows that compress implementation cycles — not someone who only "chats with AI” You will operate at AI Maturity Level L2+ minimum (Agentic Development) from Day 1.
You must bring a track record of:
- Orchestrating multi-step agentic workflows across project management, communication and data tools — Claude skills, MCP connectors, Cursor, Gemini — to automate status reporting, risk tracking, meeting follow-ups and customer updates;
- Building and maintaining your own prompt library and at least two custom skills, plugins or internal agents for recurring delivery tasks;
- Running a rigorous Human-in-the-Loop validation process on every AI-generated artefact that reaches a customer.
“I use Cursor” or ”I use ChatGPT” is not a sufficient answer. You will be asked which AI tools and workflows you added to your delivery stack in the last 30 days — and the 30 days before that — and how they changed your team’s output.
We are looking for a Solution Architect to support the design of scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions across our data ecosystem.
The role will work closely with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Platform teams, Delivery Managers and business stakeholders to translate business and data requirements into implementable solution designs.
