About the Role

As a Frontend Engineer, you will build the interfaces retail planners rely on every day to make inventory, allocation, and pricing decisions. Our products are data-dense: large configurable grids, complex filtering, and multi-locale formatting.

Frontend is your home base, but the role goes beyond it: you'll take features end to end, which can mean writing backend code, extending APIs, or adding tests when the feature needs it.

Working closely with product management, backend engineering, and business stakeholders, you will understand the planning problem behind each feature and deliver solutions that fit those needs.

What You Will Do

• Develop and evolve web applications in a React and TypeScript codebase
• Build performant UIs for large and complex datasets, including grids, filtering, aggregation, and formatting
• Take ownership of features end to end, from design handoff to production, including backend changes when needed
• Work with backend engineers on API contracts and data flow, and contribute directly to backend code when it speeds up delivery
• Write and maintain unit, component, and E2E tests, and backend tests where your changes reach the API layer
• Contribute to frontend architecture discussions and help improve our shared components and design system
• Contribute to code quality through code reviews, testing, and shared standards
• Analyze the results of features, form hypotheses, and implement new solutions.

AI Proficiency

Agentic Development

• Works with AI agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor agents) as part of daily development: delegates well-scoped, multi-step tasks such as implementing a component, writing tests, or refactoring a module, then reviews and refines the result
• Uses Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to connect agents to the tools the team works with (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Figma), so the agent works with real context
• Breaks work into tasks an agent can execute reliably, and steers, corrects, or takes over when the agent goes off track
• Uses and improves the team's shared AI tooling (CLAUDE.md files, agent rules, skills, slash commands) to make agent output consistent with our standards

AI Guardrails and Quality

• Treats agent output like a teammate's PR: validates it with tests, type safety, linting, and careful review before it reaches code review
• Knows when a task is a poor fit for delegation and when it's faster to write it by hand
• Pays attention to what the user actually experiences: performance, accessibility, consistency with the design system, and behavior across locales

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional web application development experience, with 2+ years of production experience in React
• Good knowledge of TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with state and server-state management (e.g., Redux Toolkit, TanStack Query)
• Experience with component libraries (e.g., Ant Design) and component-driven architecture
• Solid HTML5/CSS fundamentals, including responsive layouts
• Openness to working across the stack and writing backend code when a feature needs it
• Willingness to learn a business-heavy domain and ask the right questions
• Strong communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) beyond autocomplete
• Experience with Node.js or other backend development
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Experience building UIs for large and complex datasets
• Experience with unit, component, and E2E testing
• Experience with micro-frontends / Module Federation
• Experience with i18n and l10n (number, date, and currency formatting across locales)
• Experience with data visualization
• Background in retail, supply chain, or planning software
