Accounting and Finance Assistant Specialist
Description
Kloia is an AWS Premier Consulting Partner and a leading consultancy specializing in DevOps, Cloud, Application Modernization, GenAI, and Observability.
We are looking for an Accounting and Finance Assistant Specialist to join our Finance team.
In this role, you will take an active role in Kloia’s day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including invoicing, reconciliations, bank transactions, payment processes, financial documentation, and reporting support.
You will initially focus on operational finance processes, particularly through Paraşüt, and gradually expand your responsibilities as you gain deeper knowledge of our finance operations.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, comfortable working through operational challenges, and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities from start to finish.
As an Accounting and Finance Assistant Specialist you will:
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Prepare sales invoices in line with customer contracts, orders, and pricing agreements.
- Track purchase and expense invoices, enter them into the relevant systems, and perform monthly document and archive controls.
- Track incoming and outgoing financial documents and ensure they are properly accounted for.
- Record daily bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Perform periodic customer and supplier account reconciliations.
- Monitor company credit card expenses on a daily and monthly basis, follow supporting documents, and complete system entries.
- Prepare bank payment instructions and follow weekly payment and cash-flow lists.
- Support monthly tax declaration processes, including VAT, withholding tax, provisional tax, and similar filings.
- Support monthly closing and management reporting processes.
- Coordinate finance and accounting requests coming from internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Investigate operational issues, follow missing information or documentation, and take ownership of resolving them.
What would an average day look like?
You will initially take ownership of operational finance processes, with a strong focus on Paraşüt, invoicing, expense entries, financial document tracking, and reconciliations.
Your day may start with reviewing bank movements, outstanding invoices, missing financial documents, and transactions waiting to be processed. Throughout the day, you may prepare customer invoices, process supplier and expense invoices, perform reconciliations, and coordinate with teams such as Sales, Purchasing, HR, and Marketing.
As you become more familiar with Kloia’s finance operations, your responsibilities will gradually expand into payment processes, cash-flow tracking, tax declaration support, reporting, and broader accounting operations.
Not every day will look exactly the same. While many finance processes are recurring, systems and workflows continue to evolve, and unexpected situations may arise. You may sometimes need to investigate an issue, understand why something is not working as expected, coordinate with different people, and follow it through until it is resolved.
During closing periods or time-sensitive finance processes, the workload may increase. Being able to prioritize effectively, maintain accuracy, and take ownership until the work is completed will therefore be an important part of the role.
Who should apply?
This role would be a good fit for someone who:
- Has around 3–4 years of hands-on accounting and finance experience.
- Has practical experience with invoicing and daily accounting operations.
- Enjoys taking ownership of tasks and following them through to completion.
- Is comfortable starting with operational responsibilities and gradually taking on broader finance processes.
- Is eager to learn and capable of adapting as responsibilities expand.
- Does not get discouraged when a process changes or an unexpected issue arises.
- Enjoys investigating problems and working through details until a solution is found.
- Is comfortable with recurring operational tasks and can maintain attention to detail over time.
- Can manage changing priorities and remain organized during busy periods.
- Works well with different departments and follows up proactively when information or documentation is missing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Around 3–4 years of experience in accounting and/or finance operations.
- Hands-on experience with sales invoicing, purchase invoices, expense invoices, and financial document management.
- Experience with customer and supplier account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of bank transactions, bank reconciliations, and payment processes.
- Experience with company credit card expense tracking and supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with monthly accounting and tax declaration processes such as VAT, withholding tax, and provisional tax.
- Experience using Paraşüt.
- Familiarity with Luca and/or Xero.
- Good command of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Sufficient English proficiency to read and write finance-related documents and correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Strong ownership and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and periods of increased workload.
- Resident of İstanbul or able to reside in İstanbul.
Nice to have:
- Experience using more than one of Paraşüt, Luca, and Xero.
- Experience supporting monthly closing and management reporting processes.
- Experience working with multiple departments or external stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a growing or fast-changing company environment.
- Previous exposure to international accounting or finance processes.
This all sounds great, what's it going to do for my career?
This role will give you hands-on exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance operations rather than limiting you to a single process.
You will start by building strong ownership of operational finance processes such as invoicing, reconciliations, expense management, and financial documentation. As you gain experience within Kloia, your scope can gradually expand into payment processes, cash-flow tracking, tax declaration support, reporting, and broader finance operations.
As Kloia operates across multiple countries and works with international teams, customers, and entities, you will also gain exposure to a global working environment and international finance processes. This will help you strengthen not only your accounting expertise but also your ability to work across different countries, teams, and business contexts.
You will also gain experience in an environment where finance systems and processes continue to evolve. This means developing your ability to investigate operational issues, adapt to changing requirements, improve workflows, and take increasing end-to-end ownership of finance processes.
Over time, this experience can support career paths in accounting, finance operations, reporting, international finance, or broader finance specialist roles.
