We are looking for a Database Administrator for our growing Technology team!
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high availability and reliability of database systems through daily maintenance, automated backups, and proactive performance monitoring.
- Manage and maintain SQL Server, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups and performance tuning.
- Administer and optimize PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases in production environments.
- Automate repetitive and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible by applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Implement and monitor observability pipelines using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and storage optimization strategies.
- Support Agile product teams by contributing to continuous delivery and deployment cycles with database insights.
- Participate in incident response, post-mortem analysis, and improvement planning in collaboration with SRE/DevOps teams.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and DataOps principles and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server in production.
- Experience administering PostgreSQL and/or MySQL in production systems.
- Solid experience in SQL performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and index optimization.
- Strong scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar technologies.
- Experience working within Agile and/or DevOps-oriented teams.
- Understanding and appreciation of DataOps principles and practices.
- Familiarity with NoSQL technologies, especially Couchbase, is a strong plus.
- Experience with AWS or Azure database services is a nice-to-have.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for teamwork, mentorship, and solving complex problems in dynamic environments.
