About the Role


We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager with 8–10+ years of experience across payments, business development, partnerships, or commercial roles, ideally within the high-risk/digital entertainment industry.


This role sits at the intersection of Payments, Business Development, Commercial Partnerships and Compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, know the key payment service providers and acquirers, and have a proven track record of building, negotiating and managing commercial relationships with payment companies.


The ideal profile may currently be working within a high-risk platform or high-risk focused business, managing its payment ecosystem and relationships with PSPs, acquirers and other payment partners.


Key Responsibilities

Own and develop strategic relationships with payment service providers, acquirers, processors and other payment partners.

Identify, evaluate and establish new payment partnerships in the high-risk/ entertainment sector to support business growth.

Lead commercial negotiations and agreements with payment companies

Develop and maintain a strong network across the payments ecosystem, particularly providers experienced in high-risk merchants

Work closely with internal Compliance, Risk, Legal, Finance and Product teams to onboard and manage payment partners

Balance commercial objectives with regulatory, compliance and operational requirements

Identify new payment methods, providers, markets and opportunities that can improve payment performance and business growth

Manage the end-to-end business relationship with payment providers, from initial outreach and negotiation through onboarding and ongoing commercial management

Understand the specific payment challenges and requirements of the high-risk industry and leverage this knowledge to identify suitable partners

Represent the company externally with PSPs, acquirers and other key industry stakeholders


Qualifications

8–10+ years of relevant professional experience in payments, business development, partnerships, commercial strategy or a related field

Strong experience working directly with payment companies / PSPs / acquirers / processors

Experience negotiating and closing commercial agreements with payment providers

Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including how different PSPs, acquirers and processing partners operate

Previous experience within the high-risk industry is a must

Knowledge of high-risk platforms, high-risk digital business or another merchant operating in high-risk payments environment would be highly relevant

Strong existing network within the payments industry is a major advantage

Comfortable working across Business Development, Payments and Compliance rather than operating purely within Risk, Fraud or Operations

Strong negotiation, relationship management and stakeholder management skills

Experience with international payments and multiple markets is preferred
