About Role

As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in our development team, designing and building scalable backend services and APIs that power our platform. We are looking for an experienced developer (based in Istanbul or remote) to help shape and deliver high-quality backend systems.

In this role, you will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other developers to translate business needs into efficient software solutions. You will contribute to technical design decisions, support engineering best practices, and help evolve the architecture of products that are transforming the retail industry.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain cloud-based omnichannel retail planning solutions using C#/Python & SQL
• Work with ETL processes using Airflow & Python and PySpark to integrate data efficiently
• Work on complex algorithms, optimize stored procedures, and enhance system scalability & performance
• Apply OOP principles, design patterns, and best practices in C#/Python
• Perform performance profiling and resolve system bottlenecks
• Ensure code quality through unit testing and code reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Leads design and code reviews within the feature areas, facilitates the discussion and alignments on architectural and strategic decisions
• Collaborate with team members to share technical knowledge and assist in the onboarding of new developers

AI Proficiency

End-to-End AI Leverage

• Proficient in integrating AI coding assistants, CLIs, and Model Context Protocols (MCPs) within a connected development environment.
• Effectively uses AI to accelerate the entire software development lifecycle—spanning from planning, architectural design, implementation, troubleshooting, bug-fixing, cross-team communication, deployment, and observability.
• Orchestrates multiple AI tools and models to cross-reference solutions, deepen technical understanding, and apply sound engineering judgment on AI recommended plans and AI driven execution.
• Builds reusable AI tooling ( CLAUDE.md files, agent rules, skills, slash commands, internal MCPs ) that compounds productivity over time, and applies judgment about when not to reach for AI

AI Guardrails and System Health

• Balances AI-driven speed with rigorous engineering standards. Implements robust automated testing and structural guardrails and CI mechanisms to validate AI-generated code and preventing technical debt.
• Builds robust operational infrastructure to support rapid development, emphasizing safe rollout strategies and reliable rollback mechanisms. Maintains deep system observability to continuously monitor production health and validate the real-world impact of AI-assisted contributions.

What We Are Looking For

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Experience in C#/Python software development
• Strong expertise in TSQL & SQL Server
• Solid understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns, and clean code principles
• Hands-on experience with Git and version control best practices
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana or Datadog
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong willingness to learn new technologies, self-teach in new domains, and adapt in fast-paced or evolving environments
• Hands-on knowledge of working with scalable platforms for processing large and/or complex data sets using Hadoop, Spark (PySpark), DASK, or similar with the ability to pick up new languages and technologies quickly
• Experience with modern big data and concepts and/or solutions.
• Experience with pipeline orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, etc.
• Experience with container systems (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g. ECS/EKS, Kubernetes)
• Development experience on a UNIX or Linux platform
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
